Life lessons we learnt from Pretty Little Liars

7 seasons and 7 years later, Pretty Little Liars has officially come to an end. The finale aired last month and we’re still trying to come to terms with the fact that the mystery of ‘A’ and ‘A.D.’ is finally over, and our favourite Liars are no more. To help us in our grief, we’ve decided to look back on all the lessons Pretty Little Liars taught us.

It doesn’t matter who you were in high school

People change. Alison and Mona are prime examples of this. Alison was a bit of a snake in high school – she was mean and manipulative, but she grew up. Mona was seen as a nerd, but her intelligence and her confidence boost from being taken under Hanna’s wing, led to her becoming the heroine at the very end.

Your best friends will always have your back

You’ll go through a lot together. Sometimes, you might doubt each other’s loyalty, but in the end, your friends will always pull through. The ones that stick with you through the roughest of tides, are the ones worth sailing through life with.

Some people will always hold a grudge

From A to A.D., there are just some people who will never be able to forgive or forget. Don’t be one of those people – it will turn out very bad for you in the end. Forgiveness will always win.

Don’t judge a book by its cover

When we first met Toby, he was seen as a bit of a creep by everyone, and was even suspected of being A! As soon as Spencer took a chance on him, we got to see him for the sweet guy he really was.

True love always wins

No matter how messed up things seem to be (like him being your teacher), true love will always prevail – it just might take 7 seasons to get there.

The truth will always come out

You can try to fight it, but it will only make it much harder on you in the end. Remember: ‘two can keep a secret, if one of them is dead.’
