As much as we’re all loving this heat, making it through the day without becoming uncomfortably hot and sweaty is a bit of a nightmare. There’s nothing worse than stuffy workwear, blazer jackets and suit pants when all you want is to pull out your holiday shorts and eat an ice cream! We’ve pulled a list together of our top five Summer workwear essentials, the top must-haves to make working in the heatwave bearable (especially if you don’t have air-con in the office)!
Wide Leg Trousers
Wide leg trousers have rocketed to the top of trend lists recently, and we’re loving it! They’re super versatile and can be styled for work really easily. Wear a statement pair with a plain top, to match the colours of the trousers. The wide leg is perfect for the heat as they’re flowy and comfortable, especially if you spend most of your day sat behind a desk!
The jumpsuit has made a huge comeback, and they’re now available in more than just red-carpet or romper styles! This season is all about the culotte jumpsuit: a three-quarter length, wide leg fit. This style is perfect for heatwave working as you keep the chic, all-in-one elegance of the classic jumpsuit, but with a flowing leg to keep you cool!
Chiffon is a great fabric to wear throughout Summer as it is sheer and lightweight – opt for blouses in this flowing fabric to beat the heat in the office! Layer over a pair of comfortable trousers, or tuck into a skirt for an office-ready outfit. We’d recommend pairing the blouse with plain bottoms to let the top stand out!
Midi Dresses & Skirts
This gorgeous weather means we can make the most of the midi! This length is perfect for workwear as it allows you to inject your personal style into your outfit, while keeping conservative and chic for the work environment. The length allows a bit of air to get to your legs and keeps you cool!
The skater is one of our favourite styles at WTT, and here’s another reason why! The gorgeous structure has a feminine formality perfect for work, but the A-line style keeps the dress flowy and comfortable.
Which style will you be wearing to work? We’d suggest pairing these pieces with comfortable shoes and block colour tops / bottoms / accessories – save your absolute best styles for the weekend!
